Guest Mooring Policy
Boothbay Shores Association (BSA) is a private, non-profit corporation serving the interests of property owners in the Boothbay Shores community located in East Boothbay, Maine. It maintains a Dock (113 Samoset Trail, GPS) and Guest Mooring (#6087) for the exclusive use of members, their families, and their guests.
The following policy regulates use of the Guest Mooring. All questions are referred to the Chair of the BSA Dock Committee: Tim Hallowell, thallowell@gmail.com, 585.749.9495.
- Eligibility
- The mooring may only be used by BSA members, their family, and their guests.
- Boater Access privileges are not required for those listed above to use the mooring.
- Boater Access privileges are required for renters to use the dock and/or mooring.
- Liability
Users of the mooring are fully responsible for any damage to their vessel, or damage or injury that their vessel may cause to others, while on the mooring or using the BSA dock. Users agree to maintain boating liability insurance in commercially reasonable amounts.
- Reservations
- Online reservations are required and approval is subject to availability.
- Approval by the Dock Chair is required prior to tie-up.
- Reservations are per day with a maximum of seven (7) continuous days.
- Reservations beyond seven (7) days require approval by the Dock Chair.
- Reservations begin daily at 4P and end at 4P the subsequent day.
- Moored boats must be no longer than thirty (30) feet, tied with a short line.
- Users are allowed one dinghy tie-up at the Dock.
- Mooring Fee
- Mooring fee is $30 per day, paid electronically in full on approval of the reservation.
- Fee applies to all guests and extended family members.
- Fee applies to all members without boater access privileges.
- Fee is waived for members with boater access privileges but limited to personal use.
- Reservation Form
- Boater contact information must include a mobile phone number.
- Contact information of the host BSA member is required.
- Boater must acknowledge receipt of the BSA Dock Rules (provided).
- Boater must acknowledge agreement with the BSA Liability Waiver (provided).
